Accessibility

Accessible to everyone who needs it.

iDx is part of a state university, so this website should work for everyone — including visitors using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, or reduced-motion settings. This page states what we aim for, what we have done, and how to tell us when we miss.

Accessibility in detail

The standard we aim for

WCAG 2.2 Level AA. The site is reviewed against it rather than assumed correct because it looks right.

What the site does now

Semantic landmarks and a skip link on every page; a heading order that never skips a level; descriptive alternative text on every image; visible keyboard focus styling; a mobile menu that closes with the Escape key or by tapping outside it; animation that stops when your system asks for reduced motion; and text and interactive targets sized for legibility and touch.

Known limitations

Some diagrams are decorative illustrations rather than data, and are labelled as such. Typefaces come from a third party (Google Fonts). Older browsers fall back to system fonts and to conventional headline wrapping. Some portraits were supplied under different lighting; they are shown as received.

Reporting a problem

If something here is unusable for you, tell us which page and what happened. Reports reach the laboratory and are actioned with the people who maintain the site.
